A very fine example of a 1870 Iron Cross 1st class. In period “dome top” leather covered presentation case. The cross has silver frames and iron center. The center has no cracks. The Cross retains traces of the original frosted finish to the silver frames. The reverse is the GODET style vertical pin with side hooks. Center of reverse is hallmarked to GODET.  The cross itself would rate at Fine+ condition. The case however does show it’s age and has wear, scuffs, and some separations. Still VG+ condition. A fine 1870 from one of the finest German badge makers.
