The membership badge for the academy of aeronautical research was introduced in 1938 and there were 3 grades. This being the silver grade for supporting members. Beautiful age toning to the silver finish. Incredible details to the eagle, feather and leaves. The twisted pin is missing the locking catch. Reverse is hallmarked LN 1790 for the maker Lauer. Overall this rare badge would rate at FINE++ condition.
