Early SS ski cap. This is the short bill ski cap, not an M43. Wool body with metal SS skull to front and early SS eagle insignia to the side. The skull does have heavy oxidation. Inner lining is silk, and has leather headband that goes all the way around the inside. Also a feature of these early ski caps. Double button front, and no loops under the fold down. Yet another feature of the ski cap. Cap shows it’s age with wear, and staining overall. The hat has no damage however, and would rate at Fine+ condition.
