1813 cloth Iron Cross. This is the first pattern of the Iron Cross and was intended to be sewn to the uniform. Cross has 12 loops around it’s outer edge for attachment to uniform. Black velvet central base with multiple types of silver wire work. The reverse has a white paper backing that is brittle and show age and discoloration. The silver wire work has a dark tint from age. A rare example of a Iron Cross. Fine- condition.
